Hi! We are Mr. Makoto Maruyama and Mrs. Hiroko Maruyama. About the hotel We run a Japanese style inn, which is known as YAMABUN, in the middle of our town Hakuba for many years. We are experienced inn-keepers, who are proud of our town and its skiing area.

The skiing area of this town is perhaps among the most famous three in Japan. Hoping to welcome more people coming from abroad or from with in Japan to join in the Winter Olympic 1997 and make friends, we have just built another new petite hotel. We named it Hotel Viola. Yes, it was because Mrs. Maruyama liked the flower; but actually it was more because many of our longtime guests and friends liked the name. About the Accommodations Our hotel is located conveniently at a few minutes distance, facing directly to snow white Mt. Hakuba. Our guests are even able to watch the main Jump Slopes from the room window at a mile or two distance. The rooms are 9 in Western style (3 for up to 3 people occupancy, 6 for up to 4 people occupancy, 6 in Japanese Tatami style (up to 5 people occupancy). The total occupancy is 63 people. All the rooms are well equipped; and they are set at the very low opening special rates. For more detail, please check out this page. We are equipped with facilities for disabled people, too. How to Contact us We strongly suggest to use Email or Fax for inquiry or reservation. They are the cheapest and quick, as you know. Our employees are mostly students working part-time; they come from colleges or universities we know of. They will make sure to take care of your inquiry. Curious why they like to work at our Hotel and Inn? The reasons is that every one of them like skiing very much; and we let them free to play on the slope for a few hours a day.
